Diet plan for keratoconus: keratoconus natural remedies

Hi !!! you are watching… Keratoconushub TV In this video, I will tell you, what is the
importance of Diet in keratoconus. According to researches, it has been shown
that it is possible to slow-down the worsening of keratoconus to some extent by making some
changes in our diet. Keratoconus is a degenerative corneal disease
caused by corneal thinning by the action of free radicals. Since the patients suffering from keratoconus
lack the self- defence system to fight with these harmful free radicals, that are generated
during the metabolism process. These free radicals cause harm to our body
cells. Antioxidants have the power to protect the
cells from the free radicals. So by adopting a diet plan which incorporates
plenty of antioxidants; the damage due to free radicals can be controlled. These antioxidant substances are- vitamin-A,
vitamin-C, vitamin-E, lutein, selenium, lycopene and beta-carotene. These antioxidants are obtained from various
foods like vegetables, fruits, grains, nuts, fish, meat etc. To enhance the level of antioxidants in your
body, you can include the following in your diet- Papaya, apple, banana, orange, carrots,
spinach, almonds, sunflower seeds and eggs etc. But the progression of keratoconus which is
caused only by free radicals, can be slowed down by diet rich in antioxidants. The keratoconus due to other causes like genetics,
excessive eye rubbing and hormones; cannot be treated by diet. Although food can play its role in slowing
down the progression of keratoconus but one must not depend only on diet treatment. It is essential to visit your eye doctor
time-to-time to accurately observe the progression if any. On finding any progression, one must take
preventive treatment like corneal collagen crosslinking which is also known as C3R or CXL; as
soon as possible; to halt its progression further. I hope you might have liked the video… To get notification of my new video updates
