Holistic Veterinarian | Your Story

It’s pretty funny for me because I guess most people thought that I went off the deep end when I started doing what I do. They wanted to know what happened to Ferran. Ferran used to be a conventional vet. Now he’s putting needles in dolls in the back of his practice. I’ve been a veterinarian for the better part
of 34 years, and also certified as a veterinarian acupuncturist for the last 19 years or so. Growing up in my family, I learned that there were a lot of different ways to get from A to B. It wasn’t always about conventional medicine. I all too often saw the effects that some
conventional medicines had on dogs, or cats. A lot of people would bring pets to me that, with the common complaint that what they were doing wasn’t working, and they wanted to try something else. As a holistic practitioner, I do believe in
conventional medicine. I certainly practice conventional here all
the time, but you know, sometimes you have to weigh both things, and you always have
to do what’s in the best interest of the pet. I currently specialize in certain integrated
procedures, such as acupuncture, homeopathy, and Bach flower therapy. In the beginning for me, I thought it would
be as an adjunct to what I was doing, but over the years, I found it to be pretty much a primary therapy that’s been embraced very nicely because at the end of the day, most people want to do what’s right by their pet. I’m a true believer in what I do, and at the end of the day, what I’m doing is for the pets. Your Story segments brought to you in part by The Brunetti Foundation.
